Moonchild

I once had a customer ask me to design them a custom engagement ring based on "their" song, and I love that type of work, so of course I accepted! And it turned out that the song that was special to them was one of the songs my now husband used to sing to me when we were teenagers 15+ years ago!
It was Moonchild by King Crimson.

They wanted to incorporate as much of the lyrics as possible, so I designed a yellow gold ring centered around a crescent moon cut ethically sourced salt and pepepr diamond. The list of symbols from the song lyrings that I used in the design includes, a songbird, wind, mountains, trees, stones, the moon, the sun, a river, a willow twig, cobwebs, and one personal symbol not from the song; a whale hidden inside the ring under the gemstone setting.

Call her moonchild
Dancing in the shallows of a river
Lonely moonchild
Dreaming in the shadows of the willow

Talking to the trees of the cobweb strange
Sleeping on the steps of a fountain
Waving silver wands to the night birds song
Waiting for the sun on the mountain

She's a moonchild
Gathering the flowers in a garden
Lovely moonchild
Drifting on the echoes of the hours

Sailing on the wind in a milk white gown
Dropping circle stones on a sun dial
Playing hide and seek with the ghosts of dawn
Waiting for a smile from a sun child
