I first made this design in white gold with a pink morganite. It reminded me of the story of Sleeping Beauty, with the pale pink gemstone surrounded by white gold vines. I had been doing a bit of woodworking with briar root at the time, so I named it Briar Rose, and felt a connection to the name. It has now become a super common name for ring designs, so after almost ten years, I have renamed this design Wilderness.
I can make this design in any colour gold, with any gemstone, so please feel free to contact me about a custom made ring. I make this ring often, with many variations, such as adding accent gems, scrollwork, Futhark runes, or using different leaves, more leaves, or leaves as prongs, and differently shaped gemstones. The consisten part of the design is the straight band as a base, with two vines growing from the sides of the ring up towards the stone, and leaves growing from the vines. The number of leaves varies, starting from 3 and up. It can be entierly asymmetrical, or have a balanced symmetry between the two sides.
